About Jon Coles

I started my career at EW Beard training as a Quantity Surveyor. I spent my final couple of years at Beard assisting a Senior Surveyor on a new build spa facility, followed by a school refurbishment. Both projects were run on JCT Traditional contracts. My time was spent on procurement, pricing and tracking variations, assisting on monthly Client valuations and managing Subcontractor accounts. After over 3 years at Beard I moved to Management & Construction Services Ltd to take on more Surveying duties. After a short period of time I was given the responsibility of running my own projects, involving Traditional and D&B JCT and NEC3 Contracts. My role involved all surveying duties mentioned above, extensions of time and Loss and expense claims, collateral warranty agreements and direct dealings with Clients Quantity Surveyors. I have just handed In my final assignments of my surveying degree at the University of Estate Management (Reading). My next step is to complete my RICS APC, which is part of my University apprenticeship.
