JD founded Well & Lighthouse in 2009 after a decade developing and deploying technology and digital marketing solutions in the retail sector for Fortune 100 companies, including Best Buy and Target Corporation. After some time at Target Corp. during the early expansion of Target.com and later with the elite TTS-Innovations team, JD joined Code42, a tech startup then in early deployment of CrashPlan, a successful online backup product. Finally making the switch to dedicate his career at the intersection of personal and professional passions, JD jumped into professional politics as the Digital/Interactive Director for the first campaign and subsequent recount operation of Senator Al Franken in 2007. In his role as President and CEO at Well & Lighthouse JD serves as principal digital consultant for some of the highest profile campaigns and elected officials in the nation - including seven United States Senators, multiple Independent Expenditure efforts, and numerous members or the House of Representatives including Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi. JD's depth of experience in the digital political space is nearly unmatched in the industry - having been directly involved in marketing and/or media efforts of more than twenty Democratic Senate campaigns over the past nine years. JD and his team have engaged tens of millions of Americans with digital advertising and marketing, raising more than $100 million for clients and pioneering the emerging practice of digital voter persuasion.
