About Jon Gerster

Jon is driven and passionate in locating and placing top talent within the architecture and construction professions in the Pacific Northwest, centered around Portland, Oregon. Jon celebrates visionary architects working on every aspect of challenges in the building environment from fast efficient refugee housing to affordable housing projects to exciting new technologies in building. Jon also promotes revival of traditional wood and stone materials in modern architectural applications. Jon's firm, LX Recruit is constantly searching for the best and brightest talent to place into Portland's architectural firms and construction companies. Jon served as the restoration manager at Dreamland LLC, a company that specialized in historic preservation and adaptive reuse of iconic properties. Jon has restored the iconic 1897 Lehrkind Mansion - a brewmaster's mansion - one of only 10 historic brewery districts in the entire nation, winning national acclaim and awards for this work. Jon was also celebrated for preserving the historic White Grass Barn in Grand Teton National Park, WY, leading to the adaptive reuse the historic dude ranch for the Western Center for Historic Preservation. Jon was awarded the Wyoming State Historic Preservation Award in 1993 for this work. Currently Jon is also restoring his home, Goode House, in Portland, Oregon. This home is one of Portland's oldest homes, dating to 1886, and hosted dignitaries from all over the world for the Lewis and Clark Centennial in 1905 and World's Fair Exposition in 1906. Jon's most recent past restoration project was the Lehrkind Mansion in Bozeman Montana, a historic brewery district that has been transformed into a vibrant hub of community organizing, membership drives, historic preservation, and citizen empowerment. Jon's skills include top talent recruitment, social networking, media relations, neighborhood development, citizen empowerment and event management. Jon is passionate about restoring historic sites with creativity, integrity, and vision.
