About Jon Gibs

With over 20 years of experience in data science, strategy, platform development and analytics, I have led and grown teams, products, and systems that deliver impactful insights and solutions for various media and marketing domains. My core competencies include data strategy & development, marketing & media analytics, measurement, personalization, targeting, and optimization, as well as developing and implementing innovative methodologies and tools for data collection, analysis, and reporting. Most recently, I was the Global Director and Principal Data Scientist at Spotify, overseeing all audience insights, advertising measurement, client data activation, automated reporting, and market research activities for the Advertising Business unit. I managed a team of 45 analysts, data scientists, product managers, and data engineers, and increased the total advertising revenue attributed to Advertising Science activities by 117% from Q1 2022 to Q1 2023. I also developed a new suite of data and reporting tools to measure user engagement with podcast advertising and content, which enabled Spotify to become a leader in the podcast industry.
