One of the benefits of running your own business is knowing that you are building value in an asset. At some stage in your career you are likely to decide that the time has come to realise that value and think about selling all or some of the asset. Your business - often your life's work - is a unique entity and as such it needs careful preparation before being brought to market. Selling a business is a full time, stressful job, and almost any business transfer agent will happily leave you to discover this for yourself. My role is to work alongside business owners and make the sale process as headache-free as possible while ensuring that the sale results in the best deal for the vendor. Your valuation is only the beginning: I will market your business for sale based on the type of buyer we are looking for, and target specific individuals and organisations with a view to creating a climate of competition amongst buyers. I will discuss the opportunity with buyers and divulge information only where appropriate. I will conduct negotiations and ensure that the transaction runs smoothly toward completion.
