About Jon Good

I am a commercially-focused, innovative and strategic-thinking Line Manager with experience primarily being connected to the Motor Trade. I have held positions in vehicle sales, garage workshops, spare parts and latterly fleet vehicle hire. I returned an impressive performance record over my 16 years working for Northgate Vehicle Hire, a market-leading Commercial Vehicle Rental business. It was at the start of this period that I began to be involved with other aspects of business practice, other than dealing directly with vehicle hire. As operations were repeatedly streamlined, I was tasked with taking on more roles and responsibilities and became adept at multi-tasking and increasing my skill sets. I have coached and mentored a significant number of directly reporting colleagues into senior positions within the commercial vehicle rental sector. I also have a record of leading diverse teams of professionals to new levels of success in new and unfamiliar markets in a competitive environment. Whilst exploring new avenues, I played a pivotal role in the account management of existing key clients to ensure the provision of better and more economic service solutions. As a result of past achievements, I was tasked with the delivery of the national change management program, utilising a collaborative and sensitive approach to the ensuing management of change. The program improved both the quality and the efficiency of all aspects of the business through effective people management and the wide usage of smart systems. I would describe myself as insightful, adaptable and always alert to the bottom-line requirements with interest primarily in long-term behavioural and process change, rather than superficial or short-term tactical remedies.
