About Jon Grave

Destined for a vocal career after Choirboy of the Year success and his first operatic lead Amahl (age 11). Jon’s forty subsequent roles include major Puccini, Mozart, Verdi, Bel canto and Gilbert & Sullivan roles. His work with groups such as the Northern Sinfonia, Opera de Bauge and HMO Italy have taken him around the world. Jon entered the Guildhall as a trumpeter, before focusing on a vocal career. Described by Classic FM as ‘one impressive tenor’ with ‘something special in his beautiful voice’, he has performed in world famous venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Kremlin and for the Royal Family. Oratorio repertoire consists of 60+ works whilst his lieder recitals have been highly acclaimed. Major film soundtracks, live broadcasts, solo recordings and lead film roles complete his catalogue. Jon’s conducting and directing credits include the masterworks Cosi fan tutte, Hansel & Gretel and Il barbiere di Siviglia and work with the North London Philharmonic and numerous choirs and choral societies. Highly in demand as a music educator and pianist; Jon lectures in Voice & Choral Director (London College of Music); Voice; Opera & Operetta; and Italian (University of Chichester) and was formerly acting Director of Music at the renowned Prebendal School.
