About Jon Gregory

As the Associate Athletic Director of Performance at UC San Diego, I lead a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing athlete performance through cutting-edge training, science integration, and unwavering support. With a robust background spanning over a decade in strength and conditioning, coupled with my military service as an Army Ranger in the 2nd Battalion, I bring a unique blend of discipline, leadership, and innovation to the world of sports performance. My journey in athletic performance began in 2010, where I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse sports teams including baseball, soccer, softball, track and field, swimming, tennis, golf, volleyball, fencing, and rowing. Each experience has enriched my understanding of how to tailor performance strategies to meet the specific needs of different athletes and sports. At UC San Diego, I oversee a team of 15 professionals, driving our mission to not just train athletes but to foster a holistic environment where they can thrive both on and off the field. My role extends to the integration of sports science within our athletic performance and sports medicine staff, ensuring our approaches are evidence-based and cutting-edge.
