As I reflect back when I first started in the environmental waste management industry and the time I spent with Chemical Waste Management, DBA Veolia North America now, I am so appreciative of the training and mentoring I received from the Technical Services Division and the projects I worked on such as Fike Chemical Superfund Site. Then moving back to Texas and working as a consultant with Southwestern Laboratories and having the privilege to work with the likes of Tom Martens was an eye opener as we performed many Environmental Site Assessments-ESA’s and other On-Site Waste Management Activities. Finally, getting my chance to venture in to Sales, in which the TES Group allowed me to join them which was led by Bill Boring was the chance of a lifetime. The rest is history as I was lucky enough to work with Laidlaw Environmental Services selling all types of environmental services and had great Sales/Operations Associates like Ron Eubanks, Tony Rose and Rusty Kagels who to this day I stay in touch with and appreciate every day. After starting my own company, AWS and running it for 23 years (1995-2018), I look back and reflect what a great career and how lucky I have been. I still continue working in the waste management arenas and enjoy the new ways of conducting and analyzing new waste management norms and witnessing new emerging technologies. I will end by just saying stay true to your beliefs and moral compass, and never stop learning.
