About Jon Hewitt
Dr Jon Hewitt is a cultural studies scholar and Lecturer in RMIT’s School of Fashion and Textiles. Drawing on over 20 years of industry experience across design, PR management, wholesale, and consultancy, his work examines the intersection of culture, commerce, and ethics in the fashion sector. His research focuses on fashion-based social enterprises, sustainable fashion marketing, and consumer behaviour. Jon is Co-Lead of the Social Enterprise Research Network (SERN) at RMIT, where he connects research, industry, and community to advance new approaches to social enterprise. His recent publication, “Fashionable Altruism: The Marketing of Fashion-Based Social Enterprise,” appears in the Social Enterprise Journal (2025).
