Design, plan, and obtain quotes to install physical infrastructure at Walgreen Co. and its Subsidiaries. This includes all aspects of cable design and installation for Cat 6 / Cat 6A copper cabling, single mode and multi-mode fiber optics. Stay abreast of changing infrastructure trends and provide suggested changes and improvement to management. Review architectural drawings and create cabling infrastructure RFP, schedule and lead bidder’s meeting and perform analysis on RFP responses and submit recommendation to management. Provide support of physical infrastructure at corporate offices, data centers and remote offices - including Distribution Centers, Area Offices and Call Centers, etc. This includes assisting with data circuit conversion, upgrade and/or enhancement to improve site productivity. Design and draw-up data equipment rooms for the above locations; including cabinet and rack elevations, power and BTU requirements. Procure cabling infrastructure material, ship to site and work with local on-site contractor to inventory material and ensure receipt of correct material. Interface with carriers, vendors and other companies that require access into Walgreen Co. facilities to ensure their work and/or equipment does not adversely affect our business. Provide expertise to support new or existing infrastructure and travel to remote sites when necessary.
