About Jon Kaminsky

As an Associate Director at Hawkins\Brown Architects, I lead our Toronto office with a commitment to designing impactful, sustainable spaces that serve and uplift communities. With over a decade of experience in designing and delivering complex projects across a variety of sectors—including infrastructure, higher education, residential, commercial, refurb and community/civic/culture—I bring a passion for both technical excellence and collaborative design to my work. I am driven by the social responsibility inherent in architecture. I believe in the power of listening to stakeholders and engaging closely with communities to create spaces that resonate and endure. Collaboration is at the heart of my approach, fostering inclusive, sustainable and meaningful projects that reflect a broad range of perspectives. In addition to my professional practice, I have taught architecture at the University of Nottingham and University College London’s Bartlett School of Architecture, where I enjoyed mentoring the next generation of architects. When I'm not working, you'll likely find me exploring the city on my bike, combining my love for architecture with a passion for cycling.
