About Jon Kennedy

elecommunications Design Engineer with a strong foundation in HFC and Fiber Optics network design, specializing in OSP planning, joint-use design, and CAD drafting. I currently design scalable, standards-driven telecom infrastructure that supports broadband expansion and next-generation connectivity across Texas and beyond. My background is unique — I transitioned into engineering after nearly a decade in executive and multi-unit retail leadership roles, including Director of Store Operations, District Manager, and General Manager positions. That experience sharpened my operational discipline, leadership under pressure, financial accountability, and ability to execute complex projects across multiple locations.Today, I bring that same ownership mindset into telecom engineering. What I bring to the table:• HFC & Fiber network design• OSP construction drawings & permitting packages• Joint-use pole design & utility coordination• Industry standards compliance & cable design systems• CAD drafting & design documentation• Project coordination across stakeholdersI thrive at the intersection of technical precision and real-world execution — ensuring designs are not only accurate on paper, but buildable in the field. My career has been built on adaptability, leadership, and continuous growth. Moving from operations leadership into engineering wasn’t a pivot — it was an expansion. I understand how infrastructure impacts communities, businesses, and customers because I’ve led operations on the front lines.I’m always open to connecting with professionals in telecom engineering, OSP design, broadband deployment, and infrastructure development.Let’s build something that lasts.
