About Jon McKinney

Jon McKinney is President of McKinney Solutions working as a consultant for regulated utility businesses and Commissions. He received his M.B.A. from University of West Florida and B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kentucky. His prior experience includes Chairman/Commissioner for West Virginia Public Service Commissions for 9+ years and more than 30 years of experience in management with Monsanto Chemical Company. He is currently working with and the Sullivan Group. He has developed an excellent understanding of EPA rulemaking, energy policy and Public Service Commission/NARUC procedures. He has made numerous presentations to various organizations including testifying before Congress. His activities include: Past Chair of the NARUC Clean Coal Subcommittee, The National Coal Council, Board of Directors of National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), Past President of the Organization of PJM States (OPSI), Past President the Mid-Atlantic Conference of Regulatory Utilities Commissioners (MACRUC), Past Chairman of Chemical Industry Committee for State of West Virginia, Advisory Committee for the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Eastern Interconnect States Planning Council Committee, Member of Governor’s Strategic Task Force and Governor’s Transition Team, Driving force behind the formation of Chemical Alliance Zone in West Virginia, Deacon in Presbyterian Church and board of directors for West Virginia State University and Thomas Memorial and St. Francis Hospitals. He is married to Paula and has 2 children and 5 grandchildren. Jon currently resides near Charlotte NC.
