About Jon Mrowczynski

Physicist by day, computer scientist by night. I love cracking challenging and computationally intensive problems through the implementation of clever techniques and ingenuity without the loss of rigor. Whether it is improving complex systems, upgrading existing technologies, or playing my oboe, I am continuously seeking optimization. My passion is solving problems simply and elegantly, writing and refining computer programs, and innovating and developing new technologies. As a result, an inexhaustive list of what I have accomplished includes- Redeveloped a wireless, wearable, real-time, auditory-biofeedback technology from scratch that could improve the physical therapy of patients with gait instabilities- Designed and developed an AI that determines people’s emotional states based on their facial expressions- Developed software to assist with the analysis of particle collisions at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. While my interdisciplinary nature has allowed me to acquire knowledge and skills from a wide variety of subjects, my experiences have taught me that my expertise lies in the following areas- Software, database, and algorithm development- Understanding and mathematically formulating abstract concepts- Articulating complicated information and ideas in an easy to understand manner.
