About Jon Olson

The most fundamental principle in my life is that there is always room for improvement. We've all heard this cliche thousands of times, but it is often easy to forget the importance of this basic idea in everyday life. Considering the necessity of continuous improvement makes me wonder, is there any chance for enhancement if we become satisfied with the current status of things? I entered the Paul School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire unsure what discipline was right for me. Within one semester, I transformed from a guy that didn't even know what file explorer was into someone infatuated with the possibilities of technology. The Information Systems and Business Analytics track opened my eyes to just how powerful a tool data can be, and more specifically, how it can be used to improve every aspect of business efficiency. I decided to take advantage of UNH's new Master's of Business Analytics program in 2020 because I knew I had just scratched the surface in my three years of undergrad. In this program my knowledge of data manipulation, statistics, and storytelling grew ten-fold. My biggest takeaway affirmed what I had already learned: there will always be an opportunity for improvement. In my professional life I strive to find the next best approach and never settle on what's doable.
