Passionate about cycling and the sense of freedom and well-being it brings, our mission is to help increase the number of people cycling as a form of transportation and recreation for the greater health of the planet and its people. By providing better bicycle parking infrastructure, more people are motivated to cycle – and we think that is a good thing for everyone! My name is Jon Rutledge and I am the Founder and Director of Cora Bike Rack, a family-owned designer and manufacturer of bicycle parking systems. Cora products are thoughtfully designed in Australia for space efficiency, cost effectiveness, ease of use, ease of installation and attractive aesthetics. I founded Cora in 1997 after seeing a need for better quality bicycle parking facilities while studying at the University of Western Australia. After testing several product designs, I sourced local manufacturing and began visiting potential clients with sample racks in my old van that I used for windsurfing trips along the WA coast. Over the course of the next 20 years, I built and grew the business from the ground up to become Australia’s leading bicycle parking systems manufacturer and a proud supplier to some of the country’s top building companies, including Hutchinson, John Holland, Mirvac, Multiplex and Richard Crookes. Cora products are specified by leading architect firms including Bates Smart, Cox, Hansen Yuncken, Hassell and Woods Bagot. Trusted for our expertise in commercial bike parking, we helped draft the new AS2890.3 Australian Standard. This means we can provide expert unbiased advice on what makes products and layouts compliant with the Standard’s requirements, while offering compliant bicycle parking products that also meet DA and Green Star conditions.
