About Jon Schuetz

My first lesson in risk analysis and growing wealth came as a freshman at North Bend Central High School. As part of a personal finance class, each student was told to pick a stock to follow for the next few weeks. Without benefit of the internet, or any real knowledge of what I was doing, I dutifully went through the newspaper and picked the ticker symbol GPU. I had no idea what the company's real name was, or what it did. In the days that followed, I watched the stock price plummet. Then I learned that GPU stood for General Public Utilities. Among other things, the company owned a nuclear power plant at Three Mile Island, that just happened to experience a partial nuclear meltdown that spring. That experience set into motion a desire to learn about financial matters that continues to this day. After starting my practice with Edward Jones in 2010, I earned the CFP® designation in 2015. Outside the office, my wife, Donna, and I enjoy riding our bicycles. We've ridden trails all over the world. We also like playing pickleball, and I attempt to play golf without much success. Donna and I have two sons that are married and serve in the Air Force. Our daughter is also married and a nurse. It's exciting watching them begin their financial journeys.
