About Jon Tarell

Nothing is more satisfying than defying expectations—especially my own. My military experience afforded me a perspective unlike that of most of my peers. In combat, every day presents a new set of obstacles or opportunities; it really depends on how you look at it. To succeed, one must adapt. During my time in the Air Force, I was a team-builder, a trainer, and a creative communicator. In my current role, I am a highly effective leader and program facilitator skilled in producing practical and creative solutions to address the needs of all veteran department stakeholders and customers throughout 7 campuses across Dallas. One of my proudest professional achievements to date is being recognized as the “Innovator of the Year” for the veteran new student orientation that I created for Brookhaven College. This relentless pursuit of innovation—in program development, quantifiable productivity, methodologies, training, and leadership strategies motivates me to perform at the highest level. I’ve got to admit, I love shattering the preconceived notions that many have about veterans, while bucking convention in the most positive way possible.
