Background
About Jon W. Williamson
I received my Doctor of Philosophy degree in Integrative Physiology from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in 1992 (with Dr. Peter B. Raven) and completed postdoctoral training at UT Southwestern in the Division of Cardiology (with Dr. Jere Mitchell). My research efforts have focused on human mapping brain with emphasis on higher brain regions involved in modulation of the cardiovascular system as well as neuro-rehabilitation related to neuroplasticity following brain injury. I have been fortunate to have received funding from the National Institute of Health (NIH), American Heart Association (AHA) and private industry to support my research efforts. In my role as a professor, I have been recognized for research, teaching and service. I have held administrative appointments since 2001 and joined the UT Southwestern School of Health Professions Dean’s office in 2007 as the Associate Dean.
