About Jon Walters

Hi, I’m Jon and I’m a UX and visual designer living in Chicago. Most recently I consulted on a health/wellness app where I created wireframes and prototypes, implemented a design system, developed branding for both the company and app, pitched in on copywriting, as well as conducted user testing and completed final screens for the beta release. ‍ Before that I was primarily a print designer, first for an agency in Nashville where I did everything from creating branding systems, editorial design and ad campaigns. Then, in Chicago, I worked as a packaging designer and developed in-store displays and packaging for national retailers like Target and Kohl’s. The thread that runs throughout my 10+ year career is my love of crafting experiences—whether it’s the onboarding for an app or a retail display for men’s fashion accessories. As a newly-minted UX designer from Designation I’m excited to put my new skillset to use creating digital experiences for desktop and mobile that solve complex problems with simple solutions. I’d love to combine my visual design chops with my UX know-how as a product designer. When I’m not problem-solving through design, I’m scouring thrift stores for mid-century treasures, watching obscure slasher movies and exploring my Chicago neighborhood.
