About Jon Zabick

A passion for theology, especially in the historical context of the Church, has guided me into my current vocation - teaching theology and Church history at the most prestigious Catholic school in the region. My constant prayer is that this passion translates into opportunities to walk with my students in their faith journey and encourage them to a life-long pursuit of Christ by way of the spiritually rich heritage found in his Catholic Church. My formal studies and have been in: Biblical Studies; Religious Education; Systematic Theology; Philosophical Theology; Modern and Contemporary Christian Thought; Historical Theology; Church History; Catholic Theology I am currently producing a dissertation on L. D. McCabe and the proto-open theism movement in late nineteenth century American Methodism. I am also a retired 29 year Law Enforcement professional and well-credentialed expert in the science of institutional safety and security, trained in field disciplines such as: Advanced Crime Prevention; Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED); CPTED for Schools; National Association of School Resource Officers, basic and advanced programs; Active Assailant Response; ALICE Training Institute certified instructor; National Incident Management System (FEMA); As well as dozens of seminars, workshops, and training sessions offered by the Dept. of Justice, Homeland Security, Michigan State Police, and county and local level authorities. In addition to my duties as a criminal investigator, I served as the Police liaison to the schools within my Agency's jurisdiction. I also developed a keen knack for being called-in, and as a result, I managed to become the foremost death investigator in Department history. Yeah, that’s right.
