About Jonacani Rabo

I arrived in Australia in 2014. I started working as a Labourer in various places but it was one particular labouring job which opened up new opportunities for me that would set me up for a career in geotechnical engineering. In 2015, through a labour hire company, I started working as Concreter/Precast Construction Labourer at Hunter Precast, where I discovered the Geotechnical Engineering industry of Construction Material Testing (CMT) through NATA accredited laboratories that test and certify construction materials before and during various construction phases in a project. I decided to pursue further studies in civil engineering, a slight diversion from my undergraduate study in mechanical engineering with hope that one day I would find an opportunity to practice as a Geotechnical Engineer here in Australia and fully utilize my skills and contribute to the development of new and current infrastructure projects.With an open mind to continuous learning and development, my interest lies in areas such as:Geotechnical Foundation DesignEarthworksDetailed Pavement DesignLeadership & ManagementAsset Management & Stakeholder EngagementClimate Change & Sustainability in an Engineering Environment
