Background
About Jonalyn Ell
I began my financial career in 2007 as a lead teller for Country Club Bank. While at Country Club I loaded my belt with different positions ranging from personal banker to being the top performer in the booking and funding department. In 2012 I was introduced to SBA lending. I learned quickly the complexity of these loans and fell in love. My roles then changed and became managing the Colson 1502 report and the main person for booking and funding all SBA loans for the bank. After a long hard decision, I then took an opportunity at Crossfirst Bank. There I processed all loans, Commercial and SBA. I also processed the Colson 1502 report each month. I honed in that skill and then was introduced to an offer to become a Commercial R/E Loan Assistant. In that role, I soon realized that relationships with clients were my passion. But I also knew there were many sides of the banking industry that I had not learned yet. To pad my belt a bit more, I accepted a role at Alterra Bank as a document review specialist. This was the one role of loan operations that I had not been involved with yet. I quickly engulfed myself in SBA pre and post documentation. A need then came for an SBA portfolio coordinator. I could finally be back in front of the client again. I accepted that role and truly developed my knowledge of SBA loans and customer relations. In October of 2016, I felt that it was time to take a leap of faith and reach out in my career and become an officer. I was offered that said position from Summit Bank of Kansas City, which I was blessed enough to have until February of 2018. After the pandemic happened I had to stay home and run our business with my husband and take care of our 3 lovely girls. I am so thankful to be able to have a sucessful company while enjoying our family.
