20 years experience of academic surgery at University Hospital of Uppsala and Professor of Surgery at Uppsala University, Sweden. Have as main or co-author published 250 scientific full length papers in peer review journals and supervised 25 PhD students to completed dissertation- Worked close to a decade in AstraZeneca R&D with roles in early and late stage drug development including medical advisor, medical director, global product director and global product vice president. Enjoyed several managerial roles in Molndal, Sodertalje as well as in Osaka/Tokyo, UK and US. Served as Head of the Neuroscience Therapy Area with overall portfolio responsibility incl a development budget of up to 250 MUSD and sales of up to 5,5 BUSD with membership in the corporate development leadership team- 13 years experience in senior public leadership roles including head of medium-sized county hospital of Kalmar (2,200 employees) with focus on reorganization, quality and accessibility of the health care. head of Västerbotten County Council (10 k employees) with focus on organisation of special care, senior leadership development and care effectiveness. CEO of Region Skåne (32 k employees, 42 BSEK) with overall responsibility for the general and special health care, dental care, public transportation, regional development, culture and societal growth for 1,2 M people. Focus was on leadership and organizational development, communication and cost-effectiveness; heath care organization, collaboration between special and general care, development of home care; efficiency, size and quality of public transportation; innovation and entrepreneurial support, labor market development and regional/ international collaboration. Have served as board member in pharma start-ups and several public for a as Vinnvard, the national HTA board, Skane Holding Inc and in health care price juries and industrial advisory boards.
