About Jonas Yeo

Jonas is a creative manager from Singapore with a strong background in gamification design and branding. He is passionate about designing enjoyable experiences, both in work and play. Previously a co-founder of Hatchery Design Studio, Jonas offered his services not only in graphic design and digital marketing, but also gamification in business. During his time as a Director in Hatchery Design Studio, Jonas led a team to participate in PROJECT: BUILD, a game design competition organised by Building and Construction Authority (BCA) to communicate the concept and importance of Universal Design in the built environment. His team was awarded the Merit Prize as a finalist for their submission, Animal Hotel. Leaving his business to pursue his passion for games, Jonas established brand presence as the founder of TableTopTavern. He shared his experiences in game design on various online and social platforms, before designing Saucy Grannies, a game celebrating grandmothers and their cooking. The card game was published by local publisher RES Design through a crowd funding campaign on Kickstarter. Saucy Grannies was successfully funded and is now being enjoyed by its backers. Finding some success as a boardgame designer, Jonas joined Sqkii as a gamification designer. He helped clients to solve real-world problems by invoking player motivations. Jonas championed accessible design and pushed for hyper casual games that featured relatable themes and addictive mechanics. During his time as a game design lead, he spearheaded improvements in gamification design methodologies through the study of player psychology and data analysis. Jonas now works as a Business Development Manager in Algas Engineering, utilising his understanding of human motivations to drive Marketing and HR efforts.
