About Jonathan Adams

During my career, I have had the privilege of providing care for vulnerable populations in the inpatient acute setting ranging from sepsis, open heart transplant patients, cardiogenic shock, patients dependent upon short-term & long-term LVAD therapies, continuous renal replacement therapy, performing V.A. & V.V. ECMO therapies, & many more clinical scenarios. Additionally, I have experience coordinating transportation logistics nationally & internationally as a critical care flight nurse. Here is a list of a few additional accomplishments and skills: • Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings designed to increase patient outcomes. • Assisted in the development of Providence ST. Vincent’s nurse lead ECMO program. • Assisted in creating protocols for acute and vulnerable patent populations. • Preceptor for new staff and nurse fellows. • Experienced Relief Charge for the 32 bed CICU. During Portland’s COVID surges, I had the pleasure of assisting the current Providence St. Vincent’s CICU Manager in planning and implementing the COVID-19 Surge response. During that time, I helped transport all critical care patients to their new respective locations, coordinated with Central Supply on supply management for the COVID ICU unit, and assisted establishing a temporary ICU. This valuable experience made me realize the need for multidisciplinary and departmental coordination. Beyond that, I have worked hard to increase nursing educational opportunities as President for the Greater Portland Chapter of the Association of Critical Care Nurses. This is demonstrated by my tenure as the Symposium Chair for the 47th Annual Acute & Critical Care Fall Symposium, where I lead a team in event logistics including: procuring speakers, managing budgets, constructing contracts, and collaborating with the National AACN Headquarters
