A highly experienced mechanical engineering consultant with over a decade of industry and academic experience. Leader of a team of engineers providing consultancy expertise in the nuclear power industry. Extensive experience in safety case production, structural integrity assessment, asset management support, design optimisation and project management. Able to rapidly gain an understanding of complicated systems in order to evaluate and produce evidence such that substantiation can be provided for the plant. An experienced engineering consultant, project manager, team leader, mentor and coach who has worked on projects of various disciples, complexities and budgets. Graduated from Durham University with a first-class MEng degree in aeronautics and a PhD in the structural optimisation of aircraft designs. Worked for a variety of engineering companies through a series of student placements during university vacation periods prior to graduation and full-time employment for Frazer-Nash Consultancy. Worked initially in the aerospace and marine sectors before specialising in civil nuclear to support the drive to NetZero 2050. A Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and Member of the Nuclear Institute. Fluent in English, with working knowledge of French and basic knowledge of German and Russian, also a keen sportsman, musician, cook and photographer.
