About Jonathan Arscott

I am an educator who is passionate about the pupils' whole school experience: a former lawyer, investment manager, successful entrepreneur and investor who moved into teaching over twenty years ago. I'm a pupil and teacher focussed leader who always strives to bring his diverse experiences, positivity and work ethic to schools to make them (even) better. For twelve years I was at Tonbridge School in Kent as an A-Level and GCSE English teacher. My roles included Head of Year 11 and 12 PSHE, Director of Hockey, Assistant Housemaster (Boarding), Member Year 9 Lead Teachers´Group, and 1st XI Hockey and Cricket Master. As an A-level, Pre U and IGCSE English teacher, with special interests in developing and nurturing pastoral and co-curricular systems, I moved into International Education at Marlborough, Malaysia, Here, I was Head of IB CAS, focussing particularly on Service and Creativity, and building better student reflection into our program. We were voted International School of the Year in 2023. I was also an IB Diploma and IGCSE English teacher as well as playing a full part in the sporting and pastoral life of the school. I moved to Cambridge International School, Bratislava as Head of Enrichment (Co-Curricular), where I was on the SLT. The role included being Head of University Guidance and Head of PBL (Project Based Learning) as well as whole school Community Service, D of E, Sport, Drama, Art and Music. We also developing our first ever House system and inter House competitions. At King´s College, Doha, I was Deputy Head Sixth Form and Co-curricular helping build our first ever Sixth Form programme of A-levels and B-Tecs and overseeing co-curricular on two campuses for 1,100 pupils, including building our in-timetable and after school co-curricular programme. I was also teaching English A-level, a Housemaster, implemented our first ever House and School Leadership programme including School Councils, Prefects and Heads of School, and oversaw our Gap students programme.
