About Jonathan Bash

Jonathan draws from a deep well of 13 years of experience managing award-winning strategic communications campaigns for nonprofits, research institutions, governments and political organizations. His creative, data-driven approach has helped clients transform the national conversation on the diabetes and obesity epidemics, change the narrative on health equity in county health departments, move state school nutrition policy, and win competitive campaigns and initiatives at the ballot box. He specializes in producing strategic communications that move people to change policies and practices, improving the health, education and quality of life of all Californians. His tools include targeted digital advertisements and direct mail, persuasive op-eds and letters-to-the-editor, impactful videos and social media and beautifully designed materials that translate complicated research and policies—and nuanced politics—into accessible language that moves people to action. His work has earned him the Public Relations Society of America's highest honor, the Silver Anvil, and over a dozen highly competitive electoral victories for his clients. Jonathan is also an active member of his community. He has served on the Martinez Planning Commission, Contra Costa County Hazardous Materials Commission and Sierra Club Mt. Diablo Executive Committee. He co-founded the Homeless Action Coalition and is now working to save local journalism in the East Bay. He graduated with college and departmental honors from UCLA with a B.A. in Political Science, Public Affairs and Labor Studies. He lives in Martinez with his wife, Rebecca.
