I am digital meteorologist for Weather.com/IBM in Atlanta, writing and updating forecast and news articles and still and video graphics for the web and mobile apps. I am a master's graduate from Florida State University in the department of Earth, Oceanic, and Atmospheric Sciences in Tallahassee, FL. While at Florida State I was a multimedia meteorologist, anchor, and forecaster on the 4FSU Weather Show. I was on air in the Tallahassee area 3-5 days a week and online whenever needed during the fall and spring semesters. My fascination of the weather struck at a very young age. I grew up in the snow belt of upstate New York, and it was expected that school would be out a few times during the winter months due to the weather. It was watching the weather channel and the local news like Christmas morning before the sun came up that initially spawned my interest in the weather. Fast forward into my teenage years when I moved to Florida in 2003. As the moving van pulled away from my house in New York, I looked back on snowdrifts a couple of feet high and looked forward unknowingly to a hurricane season that would change my life. My first summer in Florida was the summer of 2004.the hurricane season of 2004. All of the sudden it wasn't snow blowing sideways, it was my house.
