About Jonathan Bergmueller

Hi there! My name is Jon, and I'm news reporter passionate about the criminal justice system in Pennsylvania. I serve central Pennsylvania as a courts and breaking news reporter with PennLive, the online format of the Harrisburg Patriot-News. I cover anything from high-profile criminal cases to civil lawsuits filed in federal court. Before PennLive, I worked for more than a year covering the Lycoming County Court of Common Pleas and several municipal beats at the Williamsport Sun-Gazette. I graduated cum laude from Shippensburg University's ACEJMC-accredited communication/journalism program, where I focused on print and online media. I also completed minors in English and philosophy. As a student journalist, I served as Arts and Entertainment Editor and eventually, Editor-in-Chief at The Slate, the independent student-run newspaper at the university.
