About Jonathan Cedeno

Leadership has always been on the forefront of my being. I’ve taken it upon myself to continue to develop in all facets of life. Academically, I graduated from FIU and held multiple leadership positions within both FIU S.E.A and Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, respectively. Upon graduation I’ve worked both in the nonprofit sector and education. I was a Site Coordinator for Clayton YES and a Staffing Coordinator for United HomeCare. In these positions I worked with a variety of individuals. From underprivileged youths in Fort Worth, TX to the elderly in need of hospice and other health needs in Miami. I have found a home in Educational Leadership. Although, I officially started teaching in 2018; I’ve always been involved with our youth in some capacity. I coached for both Dade County Sports and i9. Both of which are youth sports leagues with the latter being an active position that I’m still involved with. Within the realms of teaching I’ve worked with a variety of grades. I’ve taught 1st, 2nd, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades with subjects including Elementary Math, Science, Music, Social Studies, Creative Writing, Intensive Reading, and Middle School Language Arts. Not limited to teaching I’ve also ran the after school on campus fraternity, headed the theatre program, tutored, and coached the schools Basketball Team. Through determination, transparency, reliability and honesty; I was fortunate enough to be given the title of Reading Coach for the 2022-23 school year after 3 years of prior experience. I’m an avid supporter of youth enrichment and empowerment which is why every day that I “work”, I live my dream. As Reading Coach I oversee the entire Language Arts curriculum and staff. I embellish this role and absolutely love what I do. In the future I’d love to branch out and continue to develop the future of our world. All in all, along with my educational history and my work experience; I’m a graduate of the FIU Academy of Leaders and I’m currently First Aid and CPR certified. Given any opportunity I have always taken advantage of my situation and never taken anything of granted. Life in itself isn’t something that is easy, but nothing worth having is. If I had to describe myself in three words they would be; hard-working, reliable and caring. I love what I do, and do what I love.
