About Jonathan Chance

Jonathan Chance, CIMA®, CRPC® is an AVP, Merrill Financial Solutions Advisor at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Chance provides financial planning, economic and investment research, analysis, and recommendations for personal wealth management clients. Previously, Chance was a Financial Planning Analyst at García Wealth Management- Northwestern Mutual. He was formerly a Portfolio Manager at First Security Bank, where he performed mutual fund research and recommendations for Institutional plans. Before that, he was a Fixed Income Senior Specialist at Charles Schwab, where he was responsible for research for fixed income portfolio construction and servicing high-net-worth clients. Prior to that, he was a Retirement Planner at Fidelity Investments, where he was responsible for consulting tax-exempt market participants in developing appropriate risk adjusted investments and saving habits for successful retirement preparation. Additionally, he has experience in securities trading, investment advisory, and fundamental-technical analysis. Mr. Chance has worked in the financial services industry since 2006. He earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Northwestern State University and a master’s degree in finance from Texas A&M-Commerce. He is a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™, as well as a Certified Cryptocurrency Trader. He also is a Certified Investment Management Analyst, whose educational component was earned through Yale School of Management. Being a renaissance man, he believes in continual mental growth and education. He has aspirations to begin the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) program as well as attending theological studies at Grace Bible Theological Seminary (also affectionately known as the "Strip Mall Seminary"). Mr. Chance enjoys studies in economics, finance, behavioral finance, history, philosophy, propaganda, apologetics, and theology. He sings, conducts music, and plays the violin, guitar, and some mandolin. Finally, he is passionate about being an admirable husband to his wife, father to his children, and pastor to them by protecting and providing physical and spiritual nourishment in the home (Ephesians 5-6).
