About Jonathan Chen

Jonathan is an electrical engineer with over eleven years of experience in the fields of transmission, distribution and renewable energy. In four years with Vector, Jonathan gained experience in a number of fields including asset management, network development and project engineering. His time in Network Development included responsibility for the long term planning of the Wellington electricity distribution network. In his time with AECOM, Jonathan filled a number of different roles on projects including project management of multi-disciplinary projects, primary design, network planning, network analysis and renewable integration studies. Recent experience includes studying the impact of increasing solar PV and wind generation on the Kingdom of Tonga’s distribution network using PSS SINCAL as part of a goal of reaching 50% renewable energy supply and windfarm integration studies including steady state and dynamic stability investigations in Digsilent Powerfactory.
