About Jonathan Cox

My degree is in Graphic Design, but I strive for excellence in all areas. In addition to design and development, I also have a passion for illustration and animation, with a strong attention to detail. I started my Email Marketing career as a Jr. Email Designer, developing emails for clients both large and small, in various industries ranging from higher education to hospitality. I have since grown into an Email Marketing Manager, responsible for not only design and development, but also scripting, list management, and deployment. A bit of perfectionism and creative problem-solving allows me to build emails that function as beautifully as they look, standing out amongst the junk in your inbox. While there are limitations when developing an email, I don't let them hold back my ideas, and use fallbacks when code is not supported across the board. I am not the type of developer who will take a design, slice it into several jpeg images, add some links, and call it a day. By utilizing the latest innovative techniques, from interactive elements to eye-catching animations, I focus on delivering emails that make you want to forward to a friend. I have experience working in several ESP's from Exact Target to Mailchimp, and understand scripting variable data to deliver campaigns that are unique to the subscriber. In my free time, I am the art director and co-founder of Staringyeti Studio, an online store specializing in collectible enamel pins. I design all of the products and packaging in addition to maintaining the website, emails, and social media.[staringyeti.com] My philosophy is you get what you pay for, and great design/development pays off.
