Over twenty years of research experience in boreal and parkland ecosystems, with specialization in avian and forest ecology, and experience with a wide range of methods, taxa, and conditions. • Project management experience ranging from organization of large teams (>12) to leading small crews, including hiring, equipping, and training technicians, and organizing field schedules, logistics and safety. • Hundreds of hours of data entry, compilation, quality control, and summary using MS Excel. Highly proficient in the use of relational databases in MS Access, and analysis of spatial data in ArcGIS and QGIS. • Current, practical knowledge of statistical methods used in the analysis of ecological data, including multivariate methods and ordination, and experience implementing these techniques in R. • Able to clearly and concisely report on project progress and results, with experience writing technical reports, scientific manuscripts, posters, presentations, and interpretive materials intended for a general audience. • Familiar with the administrative and logistical framework of large companies, organizations, and government departments, and able to navigate these systems efficiently, and effectively to achieve program objectives. • Trained in first aid and certified to safely use ATVs, Argos, chainsaws, and firearms. Extensive experience driving 4x4 trucks with trailers, flying in helicopters, navigating by map and GPS, and encountering bears.
