About Jonathan Dunn

I'm a programmer & developer who enjoys contributing to many technical aspects of the game development process. In my role I often combine my skills in design and audio, with programming, to create immersive and responsive software experiences. My strength lies in my multi-disciplinary skill set, which allows me to be the sole developer on a project or to provide expertise in areas that may otherwise be absent in a team. I am a front-end specialist, drawing upon my art and music background to inform my design choices in various 2D and 3D disciplines. I have a broad understanding of the principles of colour theory, typography, layouts, animation, sound design and ergonomics, whilst applying rigorous standards of attention to detail, I do my best to achieve the most satisfying experience for the user, whether it's for UIs, 3D environments or visual effects. To me the player experience is paramount, so I take equal pleasure in bringing someone else's creative ideas to life as I do crafting my own audiovisual solutions for desktop, mobile & VR platforms. Despite being front-end focused, I have a wealth of experience working with back-end tech and more gameplay-orientated systems. This includes Firebase, MongoDB & SQLite databases, combat and actor AI, movement systems, player inventories & loot systems. I have also had experience using 3rd party plugins for the integration of Ads, Push Notifications, GPS Tracking, Camera APIs, Audio & Video Streaming APIs, CRM systems & CMSs. I enjoy being an active member of the development community and maintaining links with educational institutions, and promoting programming and game development to under-represented demographics.
