Primary focus of the Barbour Lab is the differential response of Peromyscus to infection and other elicitors of inflammation in vivo and in vitro. In other words, we’d like to find out why these mice don’t get sick. The infectious agents include the bacterial agents of Lyme disease and relapsing fever, and the RNA virus SARS-CoV-2. Endotoxins include lipopolysaccharide, and lipopeptides like Pam2CSK4 and Pam3CSK4 toll-like receptor ligands. Focus areas include: transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics.
