I represent clients across the U.S. and internationally, litigating appeals, cross-border disputes, art and artifact cases, and other complex cases. Recent victories include U.S. Supreme Court reversal for foreign sovereign in major art case, California Supreme Court reversal in major insurance case, Connecticut Supreme Court case reversing the largest-ever class action judgment in that state and the largest-ever commercial judgment, Georgia Supreme Court reversal in health care tort case, and Federal Circuit appeal in major aerospace patent case. Other victories include defeating a Nobel Prize winner in litigation over ownership of the patent to the Nobel-winning technology; victory for the President of Mexico in a lawsuit falsely alleging his culpability for human rights violations; and the successful defense of Yale University in a cross-border claim to one of van Gogh's most renowned masterpieces.
