About Jonathan Fulljames

I am an investigating Coroner for the Province of New Brunswick, specialising in death investigation and appointed to investigate sudden deaths as mandated by the Coroners Act of New Brunswick. The motto for the Office of the Chief Coroner of New Brunswick is "We Speak for the Dead to Protect the Living." In other words, a coroner such as myself will review the circumstances around the death of a person in hopes that similar deaths can be prevented in the future. Primary activities include attendance at the scene of death to collect information from the immediate environment and body and arranging transport of the body to a hospital. I collect and analyse medical information and the circumstances to establish the need for further examinations. A Coroner is a vital link to family members or next-of-kin ensuring that they are informed of all of the facts. Each investigation is concluded by inquiry or inquest where the aspects of prevention are addressed.
