About Jonathan Gibbard

As the Global Practice Director of Energy Decarbonisation and Chemical Risk at Ricardo plc, I lead a team of over 200 consultants who deliver consultancy, programme, products, and services that help our clients to implement sustainable and environmentally impactful projects across energy, waste, and the chemical sectors. I have more than 19 years of experience in this field. Energy decarbonisation makes business sense. Reducing consumption, creating more resilient supply chains and investing in low carbon technologies to increase energy security helps to create sustainable organisations. We create action on all these things and helps to meet global decarbonisation targets. I am passionate about delivering value and real change for our clients. Outside of Ricardo I chair the commercialisation committee and sit on the SHES committee at Harwich Haven Authority, where I serve as a Non-Executive Director appointed by the Secretary of State. I love developing people. I have previously facilitated two leadership programmes each year at Ricardo, supporting our initiatives in creating a high-performance culture and developing from within. I hold an Executive MBA from Henley Management College, with a distinction, and I am committed to advancing the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) agenda in my work. Father, partner, ultra runner, sailor, type 1 diabetic and life long learner. I have created the opportunity to do some amazing things so far in life; sailing half way around the world in 2007 and running 100 miles in under 24 hours in May 2023. A firm believer in the importance of mindsets and bringing positive energy in all I do I strive to better myself and help inspire and give confidence to those around me.
