About Jonathan Gitlin

As President and CEO at RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust, I lead our major market strategy to evolve Canada’s most adaptable portfolio and drive unitholder value. My focus is on delivering sustainable growth and fostering a results-driven corporate culture. I worked in real estate law for six years prior to joining RioCan. The majority of my RioCan career has been spent reshaping our portfolio to concentrate on urban, transit-oriented locations and maximizing the inherent value of existing properties through mixed-use redevelopment. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to help drive RioCan’s tremendous growth, managing the Trust’s $2 billion secondary market disposition program and launching RioCan LivingTM, our residential program. I’m truly excited about this next chapter as RioCan’s President and CEO, and believe my depth of insight and experience in investments, operations, and development – along with our highly talented team – will continue to propel RioCan forward. As a leader, I value approachability, openness, and authenticity. I am committed to building a culture of excellence that empowers our people to drive RioCan’s collective success. I am an active member of the Toronto community and proud to support non-profit organizations, serving on the boards of Sinai Health, Sinai Health Foundation, and REALPAC. Additionally, I am a member of the Business Council of Canada, serve on a committee at the York School, and am a founding member of the ILEO Initiative in partnership with the United Way.
