About Jonathan Goodman

Jonathan Goodman is an advisor to CEOs and Boards, Chair Emeritus of Monitor Deloitte, and Special Advisor to Deloitte in Canada. He is also a former professional services firm executive and board member. For over three decades, Jonathan has worked closely with the CEOs, boards, and executive management of a variety of global corporations on issues of strategy, growth, M&A, organization, CEO leadership, and transformation. He is an active speaker and author on topics related to strategy, uncertainty, CEO leadership, and governance. Between June 2016 and July 2021 he was the Global Managing Partner of Monitor Deloitte, during which time he helped to build, grow, and elevate Deloitte's strategy capability (resident in over 30 countries around the world). In July 2021 he was named the Chair of Monitor Deloitte's inaugural Global Advisory Committee. He is also formerly a Vice Chair and member of the Board of Deloitte Canada, where in his capacity as a Special Advisor, he still oversees the firm's CEO and Boardroom Programs, including Deloitte Canada's Podium Club for Directors. As a member of the Board, Jonathan served at times as Chair, co-Chair or a member of various Committees, including those focused on Talent, Strategy, Ethics and Risk, and Finance and Investment. He is also the founder and co-dean of Deloitte's board readiness program for its partners which confers a Del.D designation. Jonathan originally joined Monitor Company in 1986, and co-founded Monitor in Toronto in 1987. In addition to client service, Jonathan held a number of executive roles at Monitor including long-time-leader of Monitor Canada, head of the firm's global strategy practice, lead partner for North America, member of the firm's Global Executive Team, and member of the Monitor Board. Monitor was acquired by Deloitte in January 2013. He currently serves as Chair of the Canadian Nieman Fellowship, is on the board of the Loran Scholars Foundation, and is an active member of YPO. He is formerly a member of the Board of Trustees of the Ontario Science Centre, the Lead Director and on the audit committee of Counsel Corporation, and a board member of both Anthem Media and the Canadian Jewish News.
