As with many techies I became fascinated with computers at a young age. My journey began in the mid 90’s when my father brought home our first family PC, a Cyrix x86 with the newly released Windows 95 OS. Equipped with an analog modem and the latest in PC technology I spent hours tinkering, exploring, and playing Minesweeper. Looking back on this period, I realize the foundation was being laid for my future career in Systems Administration. During my early career I worked in retail and warehousing while studying automotive with aspirations to be a master mechanic but quickly realized that I had no desire in making a career of either. Retail and warehouse didn’t pay the bills and though I enjoyed working on cars, I concluded that it was more of a hobby for me rather than a career path. Taking inventory of my prospects and more importantly my interests, I reflected on those earlier years when I became enthralled with learning the computer on my family’s first PC. This was an aha moment for me. I knew this was where my passions lied so I enrolled in school to pursue a degree in computer science. During that first semester, I built my first pc. From that moment forward I knew this was what I wanted to do. Ultimately, I graduated from Asher College with an MCITP-E certification which launched my career in 2012. Like many in my profession, my first gig was in a desktop support role where I worked diligently to increase my knowledge and build my skill in computer technologies. With an insatiable appetite for learning I have taught myself security and cloud technologies through self-study and online labs. In many ways, I feel just like that kid in the mid 90’s who spent hours mastering the computer as I’m still seeking to learn, explore, and master technology. Today, I am certified and experienced Systems Administrator with 9+ years under my belt. I take pride in providing technical support that enables internal and external end users to perform their jobs seamlessly and effectively through technology. I have exceptional problem-solving skills with attention to detail, persistence, and optimism. I’m a collaborative team player who adds value to a company culture through open communication, authenticity, humor, and hard work. I am a lifelong learner who enjoys exploring and working with new technology.
