About Jonathan Griffiths

I am a highly experienced and values-driven senior leader in social care with over three decades of operational, strategic, and policy expertise across adult and children’s services. Most recently, I served as a Transformation Director for the Welsh Government, where I led national reform programmes, including the transformation of children’s services and supporting the establishment of the National Care and Support Office for Wales. As a former Director of Social Services and President of ADSS Cymru, I have a proven track record of delivering complex change, fostering integrated health and social care systems, and championing innovative, rights-based, and community-led models of support. My leadership has been recognised through national awards and regulatory endorsement, including micro-enterprise development, and supported employment. I currently offer bespoke consultancy services to the social care and wider public sector, supporting organisations to navigate transformation, improve sustainability, and co-produce solutions with communities and partners. Alongside this, I contribute to national improvement through my role as an Executive Reviewer with the Care Quality Commission and hold voluntary governance roles in the learning disability and cooperative housing and support organisations. I am passionate about improving outcomes for people and communities through inclusive practice, collaborative leadership, and system-wide innovation. My experience spans rural and urban contexts and ethnically diverse populations, with a strong focus on prevention, wellbeing, and strengthening the voice of people with lived experience.
