Serial problem solver. Voracious learner. Just getting started. I've built more ETL with SQL than I care to remember, but if you work on enough data problems you'll eventually have the opportunity to develop some interesting custom logic in Spark Scala / Java. You'll also learn that becoming the SME in a business unit and learning to determine the needs of stakeholders can be as valuable as the technical aptitude required to deliver the solutions. I'm comfortable with Python, but I'd much rather work with Go or Rust as I embark on a journey to the center of the computer. I've had an opportunity to work with Hadoop/Hive in an on-prem environment as well as Google Cloud Platform. One of my proudest accomplishments is building a flexible framework in Go to ingest telemetry data from Prometheus/Thanos into a cloud data lake. Reverse-engineering Jira permission schemes was also an interesting challenge, but it's not scalable to maintain that in business logic (in case you were wondering). Developing a standard pattern for Gitlab CI may turn out to be the most impactful project I've taken on, but I think the best is yet to come. If it's building systems and learning computer science along the way, I tend to love it! I've been blessed to have been consistently surrounded by exceptional teammates/leaders that have sharpened me throughout my early career. I hope to do the same for others I work with, so that they too may grow and develop into their best self. I also hope to continue to be surrounded by individuals that are more capable than I am, that I may learn from them!
