About Jonathan Hall

Ideas, challenges, and learning are the ties that bind my work experiences through time. I love really good ideas. Everything is connected. I am passionate about big picture projects where I apply my strengths in research, analysis, and strategy to design and implement projects with a holistic, human-centered, social science approach. Quality and execution are critical. I have experience as a certified career development practitioner, researcher, and strategist with a focus on human-centered design for non-profits and small and medium sized businesses. I have worked in the employment services, post-secondary, human services, and medical sectors in Canada. The social determinants of health are usually involved in my work. I like to collaborate and really appreciate another's expertise. A new project that I am involved with is Engage Nova Scotia’s Quality of Life Survey. I am assisting as Community Outreach Lead - Disabilities Communities. This project is visionary and important and I am excited to contribute! I also hold the position of Career Counselor at TEAM Work Cooperative / Nova Scotia Works. I believe in meeting my clients where they are in their life. I work collaboratively to co-create a holistic employment plan that works for who they are. My independent work, through my Definition5 Holistic Idea Agency business, includes the 2024 highlight of assisting with a proposal by JW Consulting (Julie Woodroffe on LinkedIn) that was requested by the Nova Scotia Premier's office and submitted directly to the Premier. Julie's report identified specific challenges with private health insurance and doctor referrals and then proposed strategies for more effectively integrating physiotherapy in to the Nova Scotia healthcare system. Other 2024 highlights with my Definition5 Holistic Idea Agency include (1) innovating and developing brand identity concepts for a growing healthcare company that addressed overall brand identity, client services, marketing, and employee recruitment and onboarding challenges,(2) creating an interior design strategy report for a healthcare business with multiple locations in the Halifax Regional Municipality, and (3) developing a basic visual identity for a healthcare consulting business. In a small way, I am assisting TEAM Work Cooperative with brand identity, service design, revenue diversification, and strategy. I'm always up for a good chat. Coffee and a cinnamon bun for me.
