This roughly 2.5-3 year process includes learning to operate the primary, secondary, and electrical generation systems for the plant both in the field turning valves and from the control room. Prior to my current role, I served as a staff scientist in the Radiation Protection organization at the CNS. Previously, I spent 6 years at the Department of Energy's Hanford Nuclear Site in Radiological Controls organizations for various prime contractors.
