About Jonathan Heemstra

When I was younger I loved baseball, still do, and I would spend hours practicing in my back yard. I wanted to be the best baseball player I could be. Even though a career with the Seattle Mariners never worked out, the drive to be the best at what I do has never left. In my career, the drive to be the best at what I do has manifested as a desire to constantly be learning. In every career role I have had up to this point I have been challenged to learn something new. Whether that was A/B testing and analytics, agile project management, writing development specs, or HTML/CSS. In fact, in my previous job role, I was required to write basic HTML/CSS, not knowing any I bought a book, read it, taught myself the basics, and built a simple website within a week. Now as a javascript developer I can confidently say I have more than mastered the basics of HTML/CSS and have learned how to use modern frameworks and libraries such as Node, Angular, and Express. I desire to be the best at what I do and I am always looking for coworkers and organizations that will push me to the next level.
